HOW TO CARE FOR YOUR STELLAR DUST PIECES.

Due to the hand-crafted nature of our garments, there may be slight variations in colour or print which makes each item unique.

We create most of our garments with beautiful fabrics that need some love and care.

Please refer to these instructions to keep your Stellar Dust pieces looking their best.

 

CARING FOR YOUR SWIMWEAR

Rinse your swimwear as soon as possible in cool tap water after each time you wear it.

Rinsing will remove most of the sand, chlorine, salt, and tanning products that can damage the spandex fabric.

Add a small amount of gentle laundry detergent and wash it through. 

Next, drain the soapy mix and rinse.

Remove the bathing suit from the water, and then gently squeeze the water out of the fabric carefully. 

To remove excess water, place the wet garment on a white towel, fold the towel over and gently blot. 

Do not wring, twist or fold the fabric or the beading as it can cause damage to it.

Then hang or spread your swimwear to dry in a place out of direct sunlight.

The sun can both fade and break down the fibres in your swimwear and beading.

When packing for your holiday please do not fold the beaded panel, keep the beading flat so as not to damage it.

 

CARING FOR YOUR SILK/BEADED PIECES.

Your Silk and Silk mix or beaded items can be dry cleaned by a professional. 

However, if you wish to care for your clothing at home, these are our suggestions to keep your SD items looking their best. 

Fill your basin with cool or cold water then add a gentle detergent.

Place the garment in the water, give it a gentle stir, and then let it sit for just a few minutes.

Next, drain the soapy mix and rinse.

You can add a gentle softener at this stage if you wish. 

Don’t wring, twist or fold the fabric or beading as it can cause damage to it.

To remove excess water, place the wet garment on a white towel, fold the towel over and gently blot. 

Then hang the item over a bathtub or in the shade to dry. 

Do not hang silk items in the sun as this accelerates fading.

 

Caring for your clothing in this way helps to maintain the flow of the fabrics and protect the handmade loom beaded panels.
